Stampin’ Up Rustic Retreat Waterfront Fun Fold Card

Good Friday morning my fellow stampers and welcome to Fun Fold Friday.  How was everyone’s week?  Are you ready for the weekend?   I hope so because it’s here.

I have another fun fold card for you today that I’ve never done before.  I’ve seen this fold, but never attempted it.  I would love to hear from you if you’d like me to continue with my Fun Fold Fridays. Please leave a comment or you can email me at creativestampingdesigns@gmail.com.

Have you ever had one of those stamp sets that you just always seem to have trouble with?  Mine is the Stampin’ Up Waterfront Photopolymer Stamp Set.  I don’t know why I have so much trouble making cards with it.  Well I decided that today was the day to conquer that.  This artwork of my card took me 6 tries before I got it the way I liked it, but I refused to give up.  I was determined to make the scene on my card the way I pictured it.  You can be sure this card is going to someone special that saves my cards.  Here’s my card.

I joined in with Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #234.  Here is their theme.

I started with a Garden Green panel and scored it at 3/4″ along the 5 1/2″ side.  When you fold the panel you should have a 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″ panel.  With the scored edge to the left and the paper lined up on my Grid Paper, I made tiny marks at the 2 3/4″ marks on the 3 sides.

I cut from the sides 2 3/4″ marks to the edge across from the scored edge 2 3/4″ mark as shown below.

Using my Layering Squares Dies I placed the die so that there was equal space from both edges to the die on my Garden Green panel and ran it through my die cutting machine.  I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Rustic Retreat Cling Stamp Set on the top of the Garden Green panel in Soft Suede Ink.  I stamped the bear image from the Rustic Retreat stamp set in Soft Suede Ink on the bottom of the Garden Green panel.

I adhered the cut Garden Green panel to a Thick Very Vanilla card base, on the back of the opening edge, using Tear & Tape Adhesive.

I adhered a panel of the woodgrain paper from the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper on the Thick Very Vanilla card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I closed the Garden Green panel over the card front and placed the smaller square die from the Layering Squares Dies centered inside the die cut making sure it was equal all the way around and used a Post-It not to hold it in place.  Opening the card up, I ran it through my die cutting machine to cut out the smaller square.  I made a tiny slit in the card front so that the corner of the Garden Green panel could slip in to stay closed.

This is where I had fun doing all the artwork that took me multiple tries because of my OCD.  I stamped the cabin image from the Rustic Retreat stamp set in Soft Suede Ink in the center of a Very Vanilla panel.  I colored the cabin in using my Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, Gray Granite, Old Olive and Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I stamped the mountain images from the Waterfront stamp set behind the cabin in Gray Granite and Smoky Slate Inks stamping off once.  I stamped the small trees from the Rustic Retreat stamp set in Garden Green Ink in front of the mountains.  I stamped the water image from the Waterfront stamp set in Balmy Blue Ink below the cabin.  I stamped the sand image from the Waterfront stamp set between the water and cabin in Crumb Cake Ink.  I stamped the taller trees from the Waterfront stamp set on either side of the cabin in Shaded Spruce Ink.  I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Itty Bitty Birthday’s Cling Stamp Set in Soft Suede Ink below the artwork.   I adhered the Very Vanilla panel to a Garden Green mat using Snail and then to the inside of the Thick Very Vanilla card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

To finish my card I decorated a Medium Very Vanilla Envelope.  I stamped the cabin image from the Rustic Retreat stamp set in Soft Suede Ink on the envelope front.  I stamped the tree image from the Rustic Retreat stamp set in Garden Green Ink on the envelope front also.  I adhered a panel of the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.  I hope you liked my Fun Fold card. I tried my best to explain what I did, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Happy Stamping!!

Stampin’ Up Enjoy Life Birthday Card

Good Tuesday morning my fellow stampers.  How are you doing today?  I hope everyone’s week has started off well.

For today’s card I did some sponging and some embossing for you.  I have to admit, it took me a couple do-overs before I got this card to look like I wanted and didn’t have any mess ups.  Here’s my card.

My card for today played along with 3 challenges.  First is As You See It challenge #202.  Here are their colors.

Next I played along with Inspire.Create challenge #045  Here is their theme.

I also joined in with Seize The Birthday challenge # 167.

I started with a panel of Whisper White cardstock.  Using my Stamping Sponges I first sponged the Calypso Coral Ink along the top half of the panel.  I Then sponged the Daffodil Delight Ink on the bottom half of the panel.

I stamped the grass and flower image from the Stampin’ Up Enjoy Life Photopolymer Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on the bottom of the sponged panel.  I stamped the mountain image from the Stampin’ Up Waterfront Photopolymer Stamp Set in Smoky Slate Ink across the center of the panel.  I stamped the trees from the Waterfront stamp set in Mossy Meadow Ink in front of the mountains.  Lastly I stamped the bike rider from the Enjoy Life stamp set in Versamark Ink on the bottom of the panel and immediately sprinkled it with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and set it using my Heat Tool.

I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Itty Bitty Birthdays Cling Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on the top of the panel.  I adhered the artwork to a thin Mossy Meadow mat using Snail.  I then adhered it to a Mossy Meadow card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment from the Enjoy Life stamp set in Mossy Meadow Ink in the center of a Whisper White panel.  I stamped the mountain image from the Waterfront stamp set in Sahara Sand Ink along the bottom of the Whisper White panel.  I stamped the trees from the Waterfront stamp set in Mossy Meadow Ink on the bottom in front of the mountains.  I adhered the Whisper White panel to the inside of the Mossy Meadow card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

To finish my card I decorated a Medium Whisper White Envelope.  I stamped the bike rider image from the Enjoy Life stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on the envelope front.  I stamped the grass and tree images from the Waterfront stamp set in Mossy Meadow Ink on the envelope flap.

Stampin’ Up Over The Moon Birthday Card

Good Monday morning my fellow stampers.  How was everyone’s weekend?  Did anyone do anything exciting?  Hope all the dads out there enjoyed the day.

For today’s card I used the adorable new Stampin’ Up Over The Moon Cling Stamp Set from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.  My son’s birthday is this week.  My little preemie will be turning 24 and he’s over 6′ now.  He definitely takes after me with the height (not really).  Well, he hates puns, so that means I have to find stamp sets that have some kind of pun in them and this one fit perfectly.  Here’s my card.

My card for today also played along with a few challenges.  First off is Fab Friday challenge #165.  Here is their sketch.

Next I played along with Paper Craft Crew challenge #340.  Here is their theme.  I’ve known people that have had cows for pets.

I also played along with Color My Heart Color Dare #347.  Here are their colors.

I started with a panel of Whisper White cardstock and stamped one of the cow images from the Over The Moon stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I colored the cow in using my Seaside Spray Stampin’ Blends Markers.

Using the Masking Technique, I masked the cow with a Post-It note that I had stamped and fussy cut the cow image from.  I then stamped the mountains from the Stampin’ Up Waterfront Photopolymer Stamp Set in Sahara Sand Ink.  I stamped the sand image and dirt image from the Waterfront stamp set in Sahara Sand Ink also.  I stamped the clouds from the Stampin’ Up Above The Clouds Photopolymer Stamp Set in Seaside Spray Ink above the mountain image.  I stamped the sentiment from the Over The Moon stamp set in Blueberry Bushel Ink on the card front.

I adhered the artwork to a Blueberry Bushel mat using Snail.  I adhered the matted artwork to another mat of Seaside Spray cardstock using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I adhered a strip of Burlap Ribbon to the bottom of the Thick Whisper White card base using Snail.  I adhered the double matted artwork to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the inside I stamped another one of the cow images from the Over The Moon stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, stamping off 4 times so that I got a very light image.  I stamped the clouds from the Above The Clouds stamp set in Seaside Spray Ink stamping off once.  I stamped the sentiment from the Over The Moon stamp set in Blueberry Bushel Ink.  I stamped the Happy Birthday from the Stampin’ Up Itty Bitty Birthday’s Cling Stamp Set in Blueberry Bushel just below the cow image.  I adhered the Whisper White panel to a Blueberry Bushel mat using Snail and then to the inside of the Whisper White card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

To finish my card I decorated a Medium Whisper White Envelope.  I stamped one of the cow images from the Over The Moon stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on the front of the envelope.  I colored the cow in the same as I did for the card.  I stamped the clouds from the Above The Clouds stamp set in Seaside Spray Ink on the envelope front.  I stamped another one of the cow images from the Over The Moon stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on the envelope flap and colored it in the same as I did for the card.

Than you for stopping by my blog today.  I hope you liked my card and will give it a try.  Happy Stamping!!

Stampin’ Up Flowering Desert for SUO Challenge

Good Wednesday morning my fellow stampers.  How is your week going?  We’re half way through already.  Did you have a chance to hop around our Blog Hop yesterday?  If not, try to take the time to go back and see all the beautiful projects.

For today’s card I used the Stampin’ Up Flowering Desert Stamp Set.  I’ve done the Masking and Sponging Techniques on it.  I love doing both techniques.  Here’s my card.

My card was able to join in with the Stampin’ Up Only Challenge color challenge #218.  Be sure to stop by to play along and see what everyone else has made.  Here is their challenge. We are doing a fun spring color palette challenge of Granny Apple Green, Lovely Lipstick, and Pool Party, with a bonus color of Mango Melody. All neutrals are allowed.

I started with a panel of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the cactus from the Flowering Desert stamp set in Granny Apple Green Ink in the center.  I covered the image with a mask I had made from a Post-It note and fussy cut.

I stamped the mountain image from the Stampin’ Up Waterfront Stamp Set behind the cactus in Basic Gray Ink.  I then began my sponging.  I started with the bottom and sponged Crumb Cake Ink using my Stamping Sponges, up to the mountains.  I stamped the sand image from the Waterfront stamp set in Crumb Cake Ink over the sponged area.

I next sponged Pool Party Ink above the mountains followed by Mango Melody Ink, Lovely Lipstick Ink and along the top I added some Smoky Slate Ink.  As I sponged up I blended the colors together.  I stamped the flowers on the cactus in Lovely Lipstick Ink and the aloe plants in the sand in Granny Apple Green Ink.  Using my Big Shot,  I cut the artwork out using the 2nd largest Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies.  I cut a Pool Party frame out using the largest and 2nd largest Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies.  I adhered the artwork and frame to a Mango Melody card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  On a small strip of Pool Party cardstock, I stamped the sentiment from the Flowering Desert stamp set in Versamark Ink.  I immediately sprinkled it with my Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.  I made it into a banner and adhered it to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the inside on a Whisper White panel I stamped the cactus from the Flowering Desert stamp set in the center using Granny Apple Green Ink stamping off twice.  I stamped the flowers from the same stamp set in Lovely Lipstick Ink stamping off 3 times and the aloe plants in Granny Apple Green Ink some stamping off once and some full strength ink.  I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in Lovely Lipstick Ink over the cactus.  I adhered the Whisper White panel to a Lovely Lipstick mat using Snail and then to the inside of the Mango Melody card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

To finish my card I decorated a Medium Whisper White Envelope.  I stamped the front and back of the envelope with the images from the Flowering Desert stamp set.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.  I hope you liked my card and will give these techniques a try.  Happy Stamping!!
