Sales Tax Holiday

Twelve states and Puerto Rico are having Back-to-School Sales Tax Holidays this year and some Stampin’ Up! items qualify for the tax break in those states!

The states with upcoming tax holidays are:  Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.  So if you live in one of those states or Puerto Rico, take a second to download the spreadsheet below and mark your calendar!

Here is the list of states having sales tax holidays, what the dates are and what supplies will be tax free during the holiday (click on the image to download a full-size printable page):

Please note that you must place your order with Stampin’ Up! during the tax holiday period in your state in order to receive these items tax-free (which is midnight on the first day to midnight on the last day of the tax holiday).  Also, keep in mind that this is a state sales tax holiday; the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.

For those wondering about Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, New Jersey, and Wisconsin, those states have suspended the sales tax holiday this year.

Adhere a panel of Painterly Pears DSP to a Petal Pink card base. Cut 2 of the largest squares using the Stylish Shapes Dies from a panel of Petal Pink.

Adhere 2 panels of Painterly Pears DSP to the 2 die cut panels. Adhere one of the layered panels to the card front. Adhere the 2nd layered panel over the first one with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamp the sentiment from the Perfectly Pears stamp set in Mossy Meadow Ink on a panel of Basic White. Stamp the splatter image from the Perfectly Pears stamp set in Darling Duckling and Petal Pink Inks around the sentiment. Cut the sentiment out using the long narrow Stylish Shapes Dies. Adhere a looped piece of 1/4″ Mossy Meadow & Gold Trim to the card front with a Glue Dot. Adhere the sentiment over the ribbon. Add a few Low-Profile Sparkle Dots to the card front.

Stamp the sentiment from Perfectly Pears stamp set in Mossy Meadow Ink on a panel of Basic White. Stamp the large pear and stem/leaf outline images from the Perfectly Pears stamp set in Mossy Meadow Ink on the bottom of the panel. Stamp the solid stem/leaf image from the Perfectly Pears stamp set in Old Olive Ink over the outlined image. Ink up the solid per image from the Perfectly Pears stamp set using Blending Brushes, with Darling Duckling and Petal Pink Inks and stamp over the outlined image. Randomly stamp the splatter image from the Perfectly Pears stamp set in Darling Duckling and Petal Pink Inks around the pear and sentiment. Adhere the Basic White panel to an Old Olive mat then to the inside of the Petal Pink card base.

Decorate a Basic White Medium Envelope to complete your card. Stamp the pear & stem/leaf outlined images from the Perfectly Pears stamp set in Mossy Meadow Ink on the envelope front. Ink the solid pear image from the Perfectly Pears stamp set using the Blending Brushes, in Darling Duckling and Petal Pink Inks and stamp over the outlined image. Adhere the layered panel to a Cloud Cover card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Stamp the bird image from the Stampin’ Up! Sunrise Sailing Photopolymer Stamp Set in Secret Sea Ink on the card front panel a few times.

From scraps of Beautiful Gallery DSP, cut the medium and small sailboats using the Sunrise Sailing Dies. Cut each of them 2 times and using Paper Snips, trim the sails off one and adhere them to the other sailboats. Adhere the sailboats to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a panel of Basic White, stamp the sentiment from the Sunrise Sailing stamp set in Secret Sea Ink. Cut the small cloud using the Sunrise Sailing Dies from a panel of Basic White. Adhere the cloud to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Color a piece of White Baker’s Twine with the Cloud Cover Stampin’ Blends Marker. Tie a bow with the twine and adhere it next to the cloud with a Glue Dot. Adhere the sentiment over the bow with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add a 2025 – 2027 In-Color Flat Pearl to the sentiment.

Stamp the sentiment and bird image from Sunrise Sailing stamp set in Secret Sea Ink on a panel of Basic White. Adhere 2 strips of Beautiful Gallery DSP to the sides of the panel. Adhere the Basic White panel to a Secret Sea mat then to the inside of the Cloud Cover card base.

Decorate a Basic White Medium Envelope for complete your card. Stamp the water image from Sunrise Sailing stamp set in Cloud Cover Ink on the envelope front. Stamp the outlined sailboat image on the water in Secret Sea Ink along with the birds. Stamp the solid sailboat image in Pecan Pie Ink over the outlined image. Stamp the sail stripes in Cloud Cover Ink. Emboss a panel of Cloud Cover using the Sunrise Sailing Hybrid Embossing Folder. Adhere the embossed panel to the envelope flap.

Good Friday afternoon stamping friends and welcome to my Fun Fold Friday. I hope you all had a wonderful week and are starting to look forward to the weekend. We’re having some nasty thunderstorms here today in NJ and we’re supposed to be getting more tomorrow.

I played with a new bundle today from the Online Exclusives. This bundle screamed my husband’s name. He’s a popcorn and movie lover, so it fits him to a T. Here’s my card for today.

Add Liquid Glue to the inside of the Real Red card base between the 4 1/4″ & 5 1/2″ score lines to create the book fold card. Randomly stamp the popcorn images from the Stampin’ Up! Poppin’ By Cling Stamp Set in Lemon Lolly Ink on the card front and side panel of Basic White. Stamp the sentiment from the Poppin’ By stamp set in Real Red Ink around the popcorn images. Adhere the Basic White panels to the Basic Black mats with Stampin’ Seal. Adhere the layered panels to the Real Red card base with Stampin’ Seal.

Cut the images out using the Poppin’ By Dies. Fussy cut the Real Red bucket using Paper Snips. Adhere the fussy cut bucket to the Lemon Lolly die cut image using Glue Dots. Adhere the die cut glasses and shoes to the image. From a panel of Basic White, cut the 3 popcorn dies using the Poppin’ By Dies. Adhere the die cut popcorn to the card front with Glue Dots. Adhere the popcorn bucket image to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamp the chip image from the Sweet Jar stamp set in Pecan Pie Ink on top of the cookies. Cut the images out using the Sweet Jar Builder Punch. Cut the lids from a panel of Silver Foil using the Sweet Jar Builder Punch. Adhere the lids to the jars using Glue Dots. Adhere one jar using Liquid Glue and the other using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Color a couple Faceted Gems using Night of Navy and Real Red Stampin’ Blends Markers. Adhere the gems to the lid handles.
