Good Saturday morning stamping friends and welcome to the weekend. I hope you all have some plans in the works. I’ll be at work all day today, which is fine since it’s supposed to thunderstorm today. I’m not quite sure what the plans are for tomorrow yet. I’m taking a couple days off from my cards. Have you ever had crafters block, writers block etc? That’s where I am, and I just needed a couple days off. Don’t worry, I’ll be back soon. In the meantime, while I’m taking time away from card making, I’m cutting up DSP and Ribbon for my shares, taking walks for inspiration & just sorting through things. I seem to have ideas in my head and as soon as I go to write it down, it leaves. It gets to be very frustrating and I’m sure you’ve all been there.

Emboss Resist Project Idea

Emboss resist is a fun technique that’s really simple to do and it definitely creates a wow card! 

To create this project:  Stamp the Leaf Collection background image in VersaMark ink on a Thick Basic White card base.  Sprinkle white embossing powder from the Basics Wow! Embossing Powders over the entire card front, shake off the excess and then heat emboss it.  Use a Blending Brush to add color over the top of the image with Granny Apple Green ink (don’t forget to wipe away the extra ink with a paper towel!).  Add shading around the leaves with a Garden Green Watercolor Pencil and softened the pencil coloring with a Blender Pen.  Apply Adhesive sheets to the back of a panel of Garden Green card stock and cut a branch with one of the Friends For Life Dies.  Adhere the die cut branch with the Adhesive Sheets to the card front.  Stamp the sentiment from the Friends For Life stamp set in VersaMark ink on a strip of Garden Green card stock and then heat emboss it with white embossing powder.  Adhere the sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Seal.  Adhere a panel of Basic White card stock to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Apply Adhesive Sheets to the back of Pool Party and Garden Green card stock panels and then die cut the “friend” sentiment from the panels with one of the Friends For Life Dies.  Adhere the die cut words together and to the Basic White panel on the card front with the Adhesive Sheets.  Adhere Pool Party dots from the Glossy Dots Assortment to finish the card front.
