Stampin’ Up! Friends Are Like Seashells Sailing Home for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop

Good Tuesday morning my fellow stampers. Welcome to Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop. It’s the 2nd Tuesday of the month so that means Blog Hop Day!! If you are starting with me, be sure to hop around to see everyone’s beautiful projects. If you’ve hopped over from Mary Deatherage’s blog, welcome to my blog and thank you for stopping by. The theme this month is “Celebrate Summer”.  We can interpret this however we want.  Here’s my card for today.

I used the Stampin’ Up! Friends Are Like Seashells Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Stampin’ Up! Sailing Home Cling Stamp Set. Nothing says summer to me like the beach.

My colors are from Sunday Stamps Challenge #261.

I started by embossing a Smoky Slate card front using the new Timber 3D Embossing Folder (available August 3rd). I adhered the embossed panel to a Night of Navy card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

On a panel of Basic White cardstock I stamped the lighthouse image from the Sailing Home stamp set in Night of Navy Ink. I masked the lighthouse with a sticky note and added color to the backgrounds using my Blending Brushes. I added Coastal Cabana Ink on the top of the panel and Smoky Slate Ink on the bottom of the image. I stamped the bird image from the Sailing Home stamp set on the top of the panel in Night of Navy Ink. I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Through It Together Cling Stamp Set next to the lighthouse image in Night of Navy Ink. I cut the image out using my Stitched Rectangle Dies. I adhered the artwork to a Night of Navy mat using Stampin’ Seal and then to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sand dollar image from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set in Smoky Slate Ink and the seashells in Calypso Coral Ink on a panel of Basic White cardstock. I cut the images out using the Seaside Shells Dies. I adhered the sand dollar and shells using Stampin’ Dimensionals and Glue Dots. I added a few Opal Rounds to the card front.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment from the Sailing Home stamp set in Night of Navy Ink on a Basic White panel. I stamped the sand dollar image from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set in Smoky Slate Ink on the bottom of the panel. I stamped the other seashells in Calypso Coral Ink. I adhered the Basic White panel to a Smoky Slate mat using Stampin’ Seal and then to the inside of the Night of Navy card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

To complete my card I decorated a Basic White Medium Envelope. I stamped the sand dollar and seashell images from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set in Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana and Smoky Slate Inks on the envelope front and envelope flap.

Thank you for visiting by my blog today, I hope you liked my card and will give it a try. Now that you’ve seen my card, be sure to hop around to see everyone’s beautiful projects. 1. Fun color combination for a lighthouse card! I love the background shading, making the white lighthouse really pop. The gray shading on the shell is also perfect. Thanks for joining Sunday Stamps.

  2. To me, your beautiful scene is indeed evocative to everything summer, having visited the Oregon coast every summer while growing up, where there are numerous lighthouses. Definitely a great beachy feel! Thanks for joining us at Sunday Stamps, Karen!
