Good Sunday morning stamping friends. I hope your weekend is going as planned. I’ll be at the dog bakery today. I found out on Friday that there is a sidewalk sale going on in town today, so I’m guessing it’s going to be a little busy, which will make the day fly by. Who wouldn’t want to come out with their pups for some treats and to take advantage of $50 coats marked down to $5, $10 & $15. This is the first Sunday I’ve worked in a while and I’m really looking forward to it.

Today’s card colors have a little story. Have you ever been driving or walking, and you see something and immediately put Stampin’ Up! colors to it? I do all the time. That’s kind of when I knew I needed to be a demonstrator. Anyway, last week my daughter and I were driving home on a usual street we drive on. There was this house that I’m guessing must’ve just gotten painted a short time ago since I’ve never noticed it before. I slowed down and said to her “I have to make a card with those colors”! The house is Misty Moonlight with Very Vanilla trim and a Cajun Craze door. I thought about taking a picture, but I don’t know the people that own the house. Here’s my card using those colors. Let me know what you think and if you have ever done this before.

I used the Stampin’ Up! Softly Sketched Cling Stamp Set along with the Stampin’ Up! Layering Leaves Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder for my card today.

I started by stamping the image from the Softly Sketched stamp set in Cajun Craze Ink on a Very Vanilla card front. I stamped the splatter image from the Layering Leaves stamp set in Cajun Craze Ink, stamping off once on scrap paper, around the image.

I stamped the sentiment from the Layering Leaves stamp set in Cajun Craze Ink next to the stamped image. I embossed the card front using the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder. I adhered the embossed panel to a Misty Moonlight mat using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I wrapped a piece of Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack around the layered panel twice and tied a bow. I adhered the layered panel to a Cajun Craze card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a few Classic Matte Dots to the card front.

On the inside, I stamped the sentiment from the Layering Leaves stamp set in Cajun Craze Ink on a panel of Very Vanilla. I stamped the image from the Softly Sketched stamp set in Cajun Craze Ink on the side of the panel. I stamped the slatter image from the Layereing Leaves stamp set, stamping off once on scrap paper, around the image. I adhered the Very Vanilla panel to a Misty Moonlight mat then to the inside of the Cajun Craze card base.

To finish my card, I decorated a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope. I stamped the image from the Softly Sketched stamp set in Cajun Craze Ink on the envelope front and flap. I stamped the splatter image from the Layereing Leaves stamp set in Cajun Craze Ink, stamping off once on scrap paper, around the images on the envelope front and flap.

Sales Tax Holiday Going On!!!

Thirteen states are having Back-to-School Sales Tax Holidays this year and some Stampin’ Up! items qualify for the tax break in those states!

The states with upcoming tax holidays are:  Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia.  So, if you live in one of those states, take a second to download the spreadsheet Click Here and mark your calendar! The last one is New Jersey starting on August 26th.

Please note that you must place your order with Stampin’ Up! during the tax holiday period in your state in order to receive these items tax-free (which is midnight on the first day to midnight on the last day of the tax holiday).  Also, keep in mind that this is a state sales tax holiday; the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.

For those wondering about Georgia, Louisiana, Virginia, and Wisconsin, those states have suspended the sales tax holiday again this year.

I’m offering a Designer Series Paper share from the Stampin’ Up! September-December 2023 Mini Catalog and I’d love to have you join!!  I’m placing my share order early on September 6th and I’m going to use the expedited shipping option so I should be able to have the shares cut, bundled and back out to you during the week of September 11th.

How my shares work:  I order full packs of all of the Designer Series Papers listed below, I cut them into 6″ x 6″ pieces (or 6″ x 12″ pieces for double shares) and give you one panel of each design from each pack on the list.  I pack up the paper in a cellophane bag with labels listing the Name, Item # and Colors in the pack and mail it back out to you just as quickly as I can!  Shares give you a good working sample of all of the papers so that you can decide which ones to order in full packs!
