Good Saturday morning my stamping friends and welcome to the weekend. Does anyone have plans? I’ll be at work all day today, but it turns out I have off tomorrow. I’m sure I’ll be staying inside no matter what. We’re supposed to be in the 100’s Sunday. My tomato plants are thriving with this heat, and I’m only supposed to water on odd days. I am giving them just a little water on even days and really soaking them on the odd days. We’re in a bit of a drought here so the water company has asked for us to conserve water and only water on odd days. We haven’t had any rain here for almost a month now and with the heat everything is drying out, it actually looks like fall on some of my neighbors’ lawns. They are covered with leaves that have fallen from the trees because of lack of rain.

Today’s card is for my neighbor, co-worker and friend. I hired her at the hardware store over 20 years ago, then I just happen to buy the house next to where she was living 29 years ago. We’ve been through a lot together. Here’s my card for today.

I used the Stampin’ Up! Kindest Gnomes Bundle along with the Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Paper and the Stampin’ Up! Very Best Occasions Cling Stamp Set for my card today.

I started by adhering a panel of Happy Forest Friends DSP to a Sahara Sand card base. I adhered another panel of Happy Forest Friends DSP to a Sahara Sand mat using Stampin’ Seal. I adhered the layered panel to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

On a panel of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the images from the Stampin’ Up! Kindest Gnomes Cling Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Ink. I colored the images using my Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Ivory, Night of Navy, Pale papaya, Petal Pink, Soft Suede, Sweet Sorbet and Tahitian Tide Stampin’ Blends Markers. I cut the image out using the Gnome Dies. I adhered the die cut images to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a panel of Calypso Coral cardstock I stamped the sentiment from the Kindest Gnomes stamp set in Tuxedo Black Ink. I cut the sentiment out using the smallest die from the Tailored Made Tags Dies. I threaded a piece of White Baker’s Twine from the Baker’s Twine Essential Pack, through the tag and tied a bow. I adhered the tag to the card front in the gnome’s hand using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a few Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems and Brushed Brass Butterflies to the card front.

On the inside I stamped the sentiments from the Very Best Occasions stamp set in Tuxedo Black Ink on a Basic White panel. I stamped the gnome image from the Kindest Gnomes stamp set in Tuxedo Black Ink on the bottom of the panel. I colored the image using my Crumb Cake, Ivory, Petal Pink, Soft Suede, Sweet Sorbet and Tahitian Tide Stampin’ Blends Markers. I adhered the Basic White panel to a Sweet Sorbet mat and the to the inside of the Sahara Sand card base.

To finish my card, I decorated a Basic White Medium Envelope. I stamped the images from the Kindest Gnomes stamp set in Tuxedo Black Ink on the envelope front and colored them the same as I did for the card. I adhered a panel of Happy Forest Friends DSP to the envelope flap.
