Stampin’ Up! Special Someone for The Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good Thursday morning my stamping friends and welcome to our Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  How is everyone doing today?  If you are hopping over from Akiko, thank you for stopping by my blog. This week we have a Theme challenge. Be sure to take a moment to hop around to see everyone’s beautiful projects .
Here is our theme for this week.

My niece needed a card for a friends son who’s turning 4 and she wanted something with animals.  Worked out perfectly for me.  Here’s my take on the theme.

I started by embossing a panel of Pacific Point cardstock using the Wrapped In Texture Embossing Folder.  Since this is a mini embossing folder, I embossed half the panel then moved the embossing folder over to the other side, being sure to match up the dots, and embossed again.    I adhered the card front to a Pacific Point card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I cut a panel of Granny Apple Green cardstock using the grass die from the Special Day Dies and adhered it to the bottom of a Balmy Blue panel using Stampin’ Seal.  I cut 3 rectangles out using my Stitched Rectangle Dies.

On a panel of Whisper White cardstock I stamped the racoon outline image from the Stampin’ Up! Special Someone Photopolymer Stamp Set in Early Espresso Ink.  I stamped the racoon fill image over the outlined image in Sahara Sand Ink.  I stamped the squirrel and mouse outline images from the Special Someone stamp set in Basic Gray Ink.  I stamped the squirrel fill image over the outlined image in Smoky Slate Ink and the mouse fill image over the outlined image in Smoky Slate Ink stamping off once.  I stamped the balloon outline and string images from the Special Someone stamp set in Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point and Real Red Inks.  I stamped the balloon fill images over the outlined images in the same colors stamping off once.  I cut all the images out using my Special Day Dies.

I adhered the racoon image to the largest rectangle and the squirrel and mouse images to the smaller rectangles using Glue Dots, tucking them in the grass a little.  I adhered the rectangles to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I adhered the strings and balloons to the squirrel and mouse using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  On 1/4″ strips of Whisper White cardstock I stamped the sentiments from the Special Someone stamp set in Pacific Point Ink and adhered them to the artwork using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the inside I stamped the sentiments from the Stampin’ Up! Itty Bitty Birthdays Cling Stamp Set in Pacific Point Ink in the center of a Whisper White panel.  I stamped the outline balloon and string images from the Special Someone stamp set around the sentiment in Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point and Real Red Inks.  I stamped the balloon fill image over the outlined images in the same colors stamping off once.  I had stamped and cut out 2 of the racoon images on the Whisper White panel so I decided to adhere one of them to the inside using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I adhered the Whisper White panel to a Granny Apple Green mat using Stampin’ Seal and then to the inside of the Pacific Point card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

To complete my card I decorated a Medium Whisper White Envelope.  I stamped the racoon outline image from the Special Someone stamp set in Early Espresso Ink on the envelope front.  I stamped the racoon fill image over the outlined image in  Sahara Sand Ink.  I stamped the balloon outline and string images from the Special Someone stamp set in Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point and Real Red Inks on the envelope flap.  I stamped the  balloon fill image over the outlined images in the same colors stamping off once.

  1. My favorite stamp is the raccoon from this set. You did a great job with all of them. I had forgotten all about the grass die in this set. I haven’t used mine since May, which seems forever ago!
