Stampin’ Up Fabulous Flamingo Tropical Chic

Good Monday morning my fellow stampers.  How was everyone’s weekend?  Did anyone do anything fun?

For today’s card I used a couple different stamp sets that I thought looked great together.  I used the soon to retire Stampin’ Up Fabulous Flamingo Stamp Set and the Stampin’ Up Tropical Chic Bundle.  The bundle is only available until June 3rd at the discounted price, but will be available separately in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.  Here’s my card.

My card today also played along with 2 challenges.  First off is the Color Throwdown challenge #540.  Here are their colors.

Next is the Freshly Made Sketches challenge #385.  Here’s their sketch.

I started by adhering a panel of Tropical Escape 6 X 6 Designer Series Paper to a Night Of Navy card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Using my Stamparatus (thank goodness for that since I’m still working 1 armed), I stamped the flamingo image from the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set.  I started with So Saffron Ink and stamped the 1st part of the flamingo on a panel of Whisper White cardstock.  I stamped the 2nd part (the body) in So Saffron Ink again stamping off once.  I stamped the outline of the flamingo in Pumpkin Pie Ink.  I stamped the water image from the same stamp set on the bottom of the Whisper White panel in Night of Navy Ink stamping off once.  I stamped the grass image on the sides of the bottom of the panel in Granny Apple Green Ink.  I adhered the artwork to a Night of Navy mat using Snail and then adhered it to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

On a small panel of So Saffron cardstock I stamped the sentiment from the Tropical Chic stamp set in Night Of Navy Ink.  I cut the sentiment out using the circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies keeping the sentiment towards the bottom of the circle.  I edged the circle using my Night Of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker.  I adhered some of the palms I had cut out using my Big Shot and the Tropical Thinlit Dies in Granny Apple Green cardstock, to the back of the sentiment using Snail.  I adhered the sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I stamped a couple of the hibiscus flowers from the Tropical Chic stamp set in Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron Inks on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and cut them out using my Big Shot and the Tropical Thinlit Dies.  I adhered them to the top of the sentiment circle using Glue Dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the card front.

On the inside I stamped 2 different leaves from the Tropical Chic stamp set in Granny Apple Green on a panel of Whisper White cardstock, stamping off once on some of them.  I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in Night of Navy Ink in the center of the Whisper White panel.  I adhered the Whisper White panel to a So Saffron mat using Snail and then to the inside of the Night Of Navy card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I adhered a couple more of the hibiscus flowers I had stamped and cut out to the side of the Whisper White panel using Glue Dots.

To finish my card off I decorated a Medium Whisper White Envelope.  I stamped the flamingo from the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set on the envelope front the same way that I did for the card front.  I stamped the hibiscus flower from the Tropical Chic stamp set on the envelope front and envelope back in Pumpkin Pie Ink.  I adhered a piece of the Tropical Escape  6 X 6 DSP to the envelope flap.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.  I hope you liked my card and will give it a try. Happy Stamping!!

Stampin’ Up! Retirement List Clarification

It looks like every single stamp set from the 2018-19 Annual Catalog is being retired and that isn’t the case, the carryover sets are being transitioned to Cling Mount.

The stamp sets offered in clear-mount or wood-mount in the 2018–2019 annual catalog that are carrying over into the 2019–2020 annual catalog will be offered in clear-mount and/or wood-mount until existing inventory has been depleted or until June 4, 2019 (whichever comes first).

If the inventory is depleted, you will be notified of the automatic switch to cling when placing an order for that stamp set. This means that you may end up purchasing select cling stamp sets (in carryover artwork) before they can be ordered from the catalog!  All carryover rubber stamp sets will be available in cling medium only (with the exception of background stamps in North America) beginning June 4, 2019.

Here is the list of stamp sets that WILL be in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.  The stamp sets on this list will not be retiring, they will simply be transitioned to Cling Mount moving forward:

  • Animal Outing
