Stampin’ Up Postcard Pals Christmas Card

Good Tuesday morning everyone.  By the time you get this I will probably be on my way to the airport heading to Orlando for Onstage.  I can’t wait to see all the new things coming out in the next Occasions Catalog and what’s going to be coming for Sale-A-Bration.  As soon as I can share things with you I will.  I’m planning on posting pictures on my Facebook page, so stay turned.  I will have limited internet, so if you have any questions I will get back to you as soon as possible.  Thank you for understanding.

For today’s card I thought outside the box a little bit.  I used the Stampin’ Up Postcard Pals stamp set to make a Christmas card.

I played along with 2 challenges today.  First one is Just Us Girls Word Week #465.  Be sure to stop by their blog to see all the amazing projects everyone made.

The next one I played along with was TGIF Color Challenge #tgifc184 Color Challenge.  Be sure to stop by their blog to see all the beautiful projects made for this challenge too.

Here’s what I came up with combining the 2 challenges.  The reason I used this Pelican image was because I though it looked like they were singing.  Take a look.

I started with a panel of Crumb Cake cardstock and stamped it with the Stampin’ Up Sheet Music stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I then tore the edges all around and sponged it with Crumb Cake Ink.  I adhered it to a Merry Merlot mat using Snail.  I wrapped a piece of the gorgeous Merry Merlot & Copper 5/8″ Reversible Ribbon around it and tied a bow.

I stamped the Pelican from the Stampin’ Up Postcard Pals stamp set on a piece of Whisper White cardstock in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I colored it in using my Cajun Craze and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Markers and my Merry Merlot Stampin’ Write Marker.  I cut the image out with one of the circles from the Stitched Shaped Framelits Dies using my Big Shot.  I adhered it to a piece of Merry Merlot scallop circle, which I had cut from my Layering Circles Framelits Dies, using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I then adhered it to my card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the banner from the Stampin’ Up Banners For You stamp set in Merry Merlot Ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I stamped the Jingle all the way sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Alpine Adventure stamp set in Merry Merlot Ink on the banner.  I then cut the banner out using the Bunch Of Banners Framelits and my Big Shot.  I adhered the banner on an angle above the artwork using Stampin’ Dimensionals and added a couple Clear Rhinestone Basic Jewels.  I adhered the card front to a Crumb Cake card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On the inside Whisper White panel I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake Ink.  I stamped the sentiment from Alpine Adventure stamp set in Merry Merlot Ink in the center.  I adhered the Whisper White panel to a Merry Merlot mat using Snail then adhered it to the Crumb Cake card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.  I hope you liked my card and will give it a try.  These images from the Postcard Pals are so much fun to color and using my Stampin’ Blends Markers make it real easy.  Happy Stamping!
