Good Thursday morning my stamping friends welcome to our Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. If you are starting with me, thank you, I hope you will stop by everyone’s blog to see what they have created this week. If you are hopping over from Akiko’s blog, thank you for stopping by. This week we have Sketch Challenge. Here is my card using this week’s sketch.

I used the Stampin’ Up! Hello Ladybug Photopolymer Stamp Set along with the Stampin’ Up! Happy Labels Photopolymer Stamp Set and One Horse Open Sleigh 6 X 6 Designer Series Paper for my card today.

This is our sketch for this week.

I started by adhering a panel of One Horse Open Sleigh DSP to a Basic Black mat using Stampin’ Seal. I stamped teh flower image from the Hello Ladybug stamp set in Melon Mambo Ink on the panel.

On panels of Basic White, I stamped the leaf image from the Hello Ladybug stamp set in Granny Apple Green Ink twice. I fussy cut the leaves using Paper Snips. I stamped the ladybug body and wing spots images from the Hello Ladybug stamp set in Tuxedo Black Ink. I stamped the wings image from the Hello Ladybug stamp set in Real Red Ink over the spots. I cut the ladybug body and wings out using the Ladybug Builder Punch. I adhered the leaves to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

On a strip of Basic White, I stamped the sentiment from the Happy Labels stamp set in Tuxedo Black Ink. I adhered the sentiment to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I adhered the ladybug body to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I adhered the wings to the body using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a few Glossy Dots Assortment to the card front. I adhered the layered panel to a Rea Red card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

On the inside, I stamped the sentiment from the Happy Labels stamp set in Tuxedo Black Ink on a panel of Basic White. I stamped the ladybug image from the Hello Ladybug stamp set in Tuxedo Black and Real Red Inks on the bottom of the panel. I stamped the leaf image from the Hello Ladybug stamp set in Granny Apple Green Ink and the flowers in Melon Mambo Ink on the panel. I adhered the Basic White panel to a Basic Black mat then to the inside of the Real Red card base.

To complete my card, I decorated a Basic White Medium Envelope. I stamped the ladybug image from the Hello Ladybug stamp set in Tuxedo Black and Real Red Inks on the envelope front. I stamped the leaf in Granny Apple Green Ink and the flowers in Melon Mambo Ink on the envelope front and flap.

Sales Tax Holiday Going On!!!

Thirteen states are having Back-to-School Sales Tax Holidays this year and some Stampin’ Up! items qualify for the tax break in those states!

The states with upcoming tax holidays are:  Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia.  So, if you live in one of those states, take a second to download the spreadsheet Click Here and mark your calendar! New Jersey is the last state for the Sales Tax Holiday starting on August 26th.

Please note that you must place your order with Stampin’ Up! during the tax holiday period in your state in order to receive these items tax-free (which is midnight on the first day to midnight on the last day of the tax holiday).  Also, keep in mind that this is a state sales tax holiday; the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.

For those wondering about Georgia, Louisiana, Virginia, and Wisconsin, those states have suspended the sales tax holiday again this year.
