Stampin’ Up! Flowering Cactus Friendship Card

Good Tuesday morning my stamping friends. How has everyone’s week started off? Before I get to my card for today, I want to wish my very special fur baby a Happy 13th Birthday. I ordered her a special birthday cupcake from the Hungry Hound (one of my other jobs). She’ll be getting that later tonight after she eats her dinner 😉

This was 2008 when we first got Jasmine. Little girl with big paws.
She used to love laying on the last step watching everything/everyone go by
One of her favorite places to lay during the spring/summer
Her most recent picture in her new bed. She never liked beds till this year

Ok, on to my card for today. I used one of my favorite sets from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog for today’s card the Stampin’ Up! Flowering Cactus Product Medley. I don’t usually purchase the kits, but when I saw this one I just knew I needed it. Here’s my card for today.

My colors are from Fab Friday Challenge #208.

My design is from Just Add Ink Challenge #543.

I also joined in with Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #358.

I started by cutting 9 rectangles from 2 different panels of the Flowering Cactus Designer Series Paper using my Stitched Rectangle Dies and adhering them to a Mossy Meadow card front using Multipurpose Liquid glue. I adhered the card front to a Mint Macaron card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

In the Flowering Cactus DSP there is a panel that has all of the cactus and flowers to match up with the Flowering Cactus Dies. I cut everything out since I wasn’t sure what I was planning on using . I cut a panel of Vellum using my Stitched Shapes Dies and adhered it to the center of the card front using Stampin’ Seal. I adhered one of the die cut cactus to the Vellum using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I adhered the Highland Heather cactus flowers to the cactus using Glue Dots.

On a strip of Basic White cardstock I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Flowering Cactus Photopolymer Stamp Set in Mossy Meadow Ink. I adhered the sentiment to the bottom of the cactus using Glue Dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals. I tied a double bow using the Calypso Coral Linen Thread, that comes in the Flowering Cactus Product Medley, and adhered it using a Glue Dot.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment from the Flowering Cactus stamp set in Mossy Meadow Ink in the center of a Basic White panel. I stamped the smallest cactus from the Flowering Cactus stamp set next to the sentiment in Mossy Meadow Ink and the flowers in Calypso Coral Ink. I adhered the Basic White panel to a Mossy Meadow mat using Stampin’ Seal and then to the inside of the Mint Macaron card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

To finish my card I decorated a Basic white Medium Envelope. I stamped the smallest cactus from the Flowering Cactus stamp set across the bottom front of the envelope in Mossy Meadow and Calypso Coral Inks. I adhered a panel of the Flowering Cactus DSP to the envelope flap.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. I hope you liked my card and will give it a try. Happy Stamping!!
