Stampin’ Up! Whale Done! for Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good Thursday morning my stamping friends and welcome to our Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  How is everyone doing today?  If you are hopping over from Akiko, thank you for stopping by my blog. This week we had a Color Challenge. Be sure to take a moment to hop around to see everyone’s beautiful projects .
Here are the colors we had to work from.

My little nephew moved up from Kindergarten and I wanted to make him a card.  Here is my card using these colors.  I read the 1st color wrong, so instead of Pretty Peacock I used Pacific Point.  At least I was kind of close, oops.

My design is from Inspire. Create. Challenge #071.  Here is their sketch.

I started by adhering a panel of Whale of a Time 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper to a Whisper White card base using Stampin’ Seal.  I adhered a small panel of the Whale of a Time 6 X 6 DSP to a Just Jade mat using Stampin’ Seal.

I embossed a strip of Just Jade cardstock using the Seabed 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to the side of the small matted panel of DSP using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  On a panel of Whisper White cardstock I stamped the whale image from the Stampin’ Up! Whale Done Cling Stamp Set in Smoky Slate Ink and the turtle image from the Whale Done stamp set in Pear Pizzazz Ink.  I punched the whale image out using the Whale Builder Punch and I fussy cut the turtle using my Paper Snips.  I adhered the Whale to the matted DSP using Stampin’ Dimensionals and the turtle using Glue Dots.

I adhered the artwork to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  On a thin strip of Whisper White cardstock I stamped the sentiment from the Whale Done stamp set in Pear Pizzazz Ink and adhered it to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and a Glue Dot.  I added a few Clear Epoxy Droplets from the Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment from the Whale Done stamp set in Pear Pizzazz Ink in the center of a Whisper White panel.  I stamped the whale image from the Whale Done stamp set in Smoky Slate Ink, stamping off once, over the sentiment.  I stamped the seaweed and turtle images from the Whale Done stamp set in Pear Pizzazz Ink on the top and bottom of the panel, some in full strength and some stamped off.  I adhered the Whisper White panel to a Pacific Point mat using Stampin’ Seal and then to the inside of the Whisper White card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

To finish my card I decorated a Medium Whisper White Envelope.  I stamped the whale image from the Whale Done stamp set in Smoky Slate Ink on the envelope front.  I stamped the seaweed image from the Whale Done stamp set in Pear Pizzazz Ink on the envelope front.  I adhered a panel of the Whale of a Time 6 X 6 DSP to the envelope flap.

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I hope you liked my card and will give it a try. Now that you’ve seen my card, take a minute to hop through all our projects today.
