Stampin’ Up! Little Ladybug For Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good Thursday morning my stamping friends. Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. If you are hopping over from Akiko, thank you for stopping by. This week we had a Sketch Challenge. Be sure to hop around to see everyone’s beautiful projects. I’m continuing with my quick and easy cards for this week.  My card today is for my daughter who was just accepted to the Forensic Chemistry Program at Kean University.  I am so proud of her and I wanted to make a card to let her know and congratulate her.   Here’s what I came up with for the sketch.

Here is our sketch for this week.

My colors were inspired by Inspire. Create Challenge #058.  Here are their colors.

I started by adhering a panel of Cherry Cobbler Regals 6″ X 6″ Designer Series Paper to a Whisper White card base.

I stamped the flower and butterfly image from the Stampin’ Up! Little Ladybug Host Cling Stamp Set In Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a small panel of Whisper White cardstock.  I colored the ladybug image in using my Light Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I colored the leaves and stem of the flower in using my Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I colored the flower in using my Aqua Painter and Blushing Bride Ink.  On a scrap of Whisper White cardstock I stamped the same ladybug image from the Little Ladybug stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I only colored in the left wing using my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend Markers. I fussy cut the wing out using my Paper Snips. I adhered the wing to the artwork using a Stampin’ Dimensional to give a little extra dimension to the ladybug.  I added a little Clear Wink of Stella to the flower center to give a little sparkle.  I adhered the artwork to a panel of Blushing Bride cardstock using Snail.

On a strip of Whisper White cardstock I stamped the sentiment from the Little Ladybug stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I sponged the edges of the strip using my Cherry Cobbler Ink and a Sponge Dauber.  I adhered the sentiment to the bottom of the artwork using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I adhered the artwork to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added a few Cherry Cobbler Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the artwork.

On the inside I stamped the flower image from the Little Ladybug stamp set in Blushing Bride Ink, stamping off once, to the center of a Whisper White panel.  I stamped the ladybug image from the Little Ladybug stamp set on the bottom of the panel  in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored it in using my Light Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Strong & Beautiful Cling Stamp Set over the flower image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I adhered the Whisper White panel to a Blushing Bride mat using Snail and then to the inside of the Whisper White card base using Snail.

To finish my card I decorated a Medium Whisper White Envelope.  I stamped the flower and ladybug images from the Little Ladybug stamp set on the envelope front and colored them in using my Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I adhered a panel of Cherry Cobbler Regals 6″ X 6″ DSP to the envelope flap.

  1. love your card! Cute ladybugs and bees in the new catty and SAB. My granddaughter just graduated with a BS in Forensic Psychology/minor Criminal Justice. Proud of her too. We had no idea at that age what fields were open to us. All the best to your daughter! She will do you proud.

    • Thank you so much Julie 🙂 I just love this ladybug and the bees stamp. Can’t wait to play with that one. There are so many more fields open for college students now. I am so proud of her and how far she’s come already. Congrats to your granddaughter.
