Stampin’ Up Free As A Bird Friendship Card

Good Wednesday morning my fellow stampers.  Hope your week is progressing well.  We’re half way through the week and on the downhill to the weekend.

For today’s card I used the Stampin’ Up Free As A Bird Bundle.  When you purchase the Free As A Bird Cling Stamp Set and the Stitched Nested Labels Dies as a bundle you can save 10%.  Who else likes to save money?  Here’s my card.

I love layers and when I saw this sketch on Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge #317 I knew exactly what I wanted to do.  Here is their sketch.

I started by stamping the larger bird image from the Stampin’ Up Free As A Bird Cling Stamp Set in Soft Suede Ink on a panel of Whisper White cardstock.  I stamped the flowers from the Free As A Bird stamp set around the bird image.  I colored the bird and flowers in using my Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Petal Pink, Pool Party and So Saffron Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I cut the image out using the 4th from the smallest Stitched Nested Labels Dies.  I adhered the artwork to a Soft Suede mat, which I had cut out of the 5th Stitched Nested Labels Die, using Snail.

I took a Soft Suede card front and embossed it using the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.  I adhered a larger piece of the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper to a Pool Party mat using Snail then adhered it to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I adhered a smaller piece of the Bird Ballad DSP to a Petal Pink mat using Snail.  I wrapped a piece of the Mossy Meadow Linen Thread around the smaller matted DSP and tied a knot. I adhered a bow made from the Mossy Meadow Linen Thread using a Glue Dot.

I adhered the smaller matted DSP to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I adhered the matted artwork to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added 3 Pearl Basic Jewels to the bottom right of the larger matted DSP.  I adhered the card front to a Soft Suede card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

On the inside I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Free As A Bird stamp set in Soft Suede Ink on the top and bottom corner of a Whisper White panel.  I colored the flowers and leaves in using my Old Olive, Petal Pink, Pool Party and So Saffron Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I stamped the sentiment from the Free As A Bird stamp set in the center of the Whisper White panel in Soft Suede Ink.  I adhered the Whisper White panel to the inside of the Soft Suede card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

To finish my card I decorated a Medium Whisper White Envelope.  I stamped the larger bird image from the Free As A Bird stamp set in Soft Suede Ink on the front of the envelope and colored it in using my Crumb Cake and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I adhered a panel of the Bird Ballad DSP to the envelope flap.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.  I hope you liked my card and will give it a try. Happy Stamping!!****************************************************************************************************
