Stampin’ Up Silhouette Scenes Fireworks Birthday Card

Good Thursday morning my fellow stampers.  How has your week been?  Only 2 days to get through and the weekend will be here.

For today’s card I had to put my thinking cap on.  I wanted to make fireworks, but I didn’t have a firework stamp.  I also wanted to use the new Stampin’ Up Silhouette Scenes Cling Stamp Set. I’ll admit this card took me a couple tries before I got the ‘fireworks’ to look the way I wanted.  Here’s what I came up with. take a look.

My card played along with some challenges.  You know how much I like to join in with them.  First I played along with CAS On Friday challenge #160.  Their theme is People.

Next I joined in with Festive Friday Challenge #0036.  Here is their theme.  I think fireworks fits for 4th of July and Summer, don’t you?

I also played along with Sunday Stamps Challenge #207.  Here are their colors.

I started by stamped the dandelion cluster from the Stampin’ Up Dandelion Wishes Cling Stamp Set in VersaMark Ink on a panel of Seaside Spray cardstock.  I immediately sprinkled it with the Shimmer White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and set it using the Heat Tool.

I then stamped 2 of the children images from the Silhouette Scenes stamp set in VersaMark Ink on the bottom of the Seaside Spray panel.  I immediately sprinkled them with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and set it using my Heat Tool.  On a strip of Night of Navy cardstock I stamped part of one of the sentiments from the Silhouette Scenes stamp set in VersaMark Ink.  I immediately sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and set it using my Heat Tool.  I stamped the bottom part of the sentiment from Silhouette Scenes on the bottom of a Real Red card front in VersaMark Ink.  I immediately sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and set it using my Heat Tool.

I adhered the Seaside Spray artwork panel to the Real Red card front using Snail.  I made a banner out of the Night of Navy strip and adhered it to the left side of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I trimmed off any excess using my Paper Snips.  I adhered the card front to a Sahara Sand card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I added a Clear Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the center ‘firework’.  Using my Dark Night of Navy Stampin’ Blend Marker I colored one of the Clear Rhinestone Basic Jewels and adhered it to one of the ‘fireworks’.  I adhered a Red Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the last ‘firework’.

On the inside I stamped the dandelion cluster from the Dandelion Wishes stamp set in Seaside Spray Ink, stamping off once, on a Whisper White panel.  I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Itty Bitty Birthdays Cling Stamp Set over the top of the ‘fireworks’ in Night of Navy Ink.  I adhered the Whisper White panel to a Night of Navy mat using Snail and then to the inside of the Sahara Sand card base using Multipurpose Liquid glue.

To finish my card I decorated a Medium Whisper White Envelope.  I stamped 2 of the children images from the Silhouette Scenes stamp set in Night of Navy Ink on the envelope front.  I stamped the cluster of dandelions from the Dandelion Wishes stamp set in Real Red Ink on the envelope flap.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.  I hope you liked my card and will give it a try. Happy Stamping!!
