Stampin’ Up Sea Of Textures Birthday Card

Good Monday morning my fellow stampers.  How is your holiday weekend going?  I love these 3 day weekends.  Is anyone going to or having a picnic today?  It’s a beautiful day here for a picnic.

For today’s card I used the Stampin’ Up Sea Of Textures Bundle.  This bundle will only be available at the discounted price for 1 more week.  It will be carrying ove to the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, but not with the discount.  My daughter saw this stamp set and informed me I never made her a birthday card using it, so I made her a card. Here’s my card.

I joined in with a couple challenges with my card.  First is the Freshly Made Sketches challenge #389.  Here is their sketch.

I also joined in with the Color Throwdown challenge #544.  Here are their colors.  Their colors seemed very appropriate to use for today.

I started by adhering a panel of Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper to a Night of Navy card base using Multipurpose. Liquid Glue.  I then used my Layering Circle Framelit Dies and cut through the 2 layers.  Starting from the largest circle and counting down to the smallest, I used #5.

Using #2 and #3 Layering Circle Framelit Dies I cut 2 circles out of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.  I layered them on top of one another using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and used the #5 Layering Circle Framelit Die to cut the circle in the center.  I adhered the circle frame to the cut circle on the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I added Metallic Pearls around the circle so it looks like a porthole.  I cut the net out using the Under The Sea Framelits from a panel of Tranquil Textures DSP and adhered it behind the porthole on the inside of the card.  I stamped the octopus from the Sea of Textures stamp set in Poppy Parade Ink on a panel of Whisper White cardstock.  I cut the octopus out using the Under The Sea Framelits and adhered it partially outside the porthole and partially inside.

On a piece of Vellum paper I stamped the sentiment from the Sea of Textures stamp set in Night of Navy Ink.  I cut one end of the vellum into a banner.  I cut a sand dollar out of Sahara Sand cardstock using the Under The Sea Framelits and adhered it to the left of the sentiment using a Stampin’ Dimensional.  I adhered the sentiment strip to the card front using a Glue Dot under the sand dollar.

On the inside I adhered a panel of the Tranquil Textures DSP to the inside of the card base.  I stamped some of the coral and seaweed images from the Sea Of Textures stamp set in Soft Suede and Poppy Parade Inks.  I stamped the coral image from the Sea Of Textures stamp set on a panel of Whisper White cardstock in Poppy Parade Ink and cut it out using the Under The Sea Framelits.  I cut out some of the coral from the Under The Sea Framelits in Real Red cardstock.  I cut out some of the seaweed  from the Under The Sea Framelits in Balmy Blue cardstock.  I cut a sand dollar out from the Under The Sea Framelits in Sahara Sand cardstock.  I stamped the anchor from the Stampin’ Up Sailing Home Stamp Set in Sahara Sand Ink on a panel of Sahara Sand cardstock.  I cut the anchor out using the Smooth Sailing Dies.  I arranged the pieces on the bottom of the inside DSP panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Glue Dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I attached a piece of Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Bakers Twine to the anchor.  On a panel of Whisper White I stamped the coral images from the Sea Of Textures stamp set in Balmy Blue and Poppy Parade Inks stamping them off 3 times to get a very light image.  I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp Set in Night of Navy Ink on angles on the Whisper White panel.  I adhered the Whisper White panel to the left side of the inside of the card under the porthole.  I cut another piece of the netting from the Under The Sea Framelits from a panel of Tranquil Textures DSP and adhered it over the 1st piece behind the porthole.

To finish my card I decorated a Medium Whisper White Envelope.  I stamped the coral from the Sea Of Textures stamp set in Balmy Blue and Poppy Parade Inks on the bottom of the envelope front.  I stamped the netting image from the Sea Of Textures stamp set in Crumb Cake Ink over the coral image and I stamped the octopus image from the Sea Of Textures stamp set in Poppy Parade Ink over the netting.  I adhered a panel of the Tranquil Textures DSP to the envelope flap.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my blog today.  I hope you liked my card and will give it a try.  Don’t forget, if you are interested in purchasing the Sea Of Textures Bundle, now is the time to get it when you can still get a 10% discount on it.  It will be available in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, but you will have to purchase them individually.  Happy Stamping!!

Stampin’ Up! Retirement List Clarification

It looks like every single stamp set from the 2018-19 Annual Catalog is being retired and that isn’t the case, the carryover sets are being transitioned to Cling Mount.

The stamp sets offered in clear-mount or wood-mount in the 2018–2019 annual catalog that are carrying over into the 2019–2020 annual catalog will be offered in clear-mount and/or wood-mount until existing inventory has been depleted or until June 4, 2019 (whichever comes first).

If the inventory is depleted, you will be notified of the automatic switch to cling when placing an order for that stamp set. This means that you may end up purchasing select cling stamp sets (in carryover artwork) before they can be ordered from the catalog!  All carryover rubber stamp sets will be available in cling medium only (with the exception of background stamps in North America) beginning June 4, 2019.

You can download copies of the full retiring lists in PDF Form here:
